A little about myself

👋 Hi there! I'm Jake, a UX/UI designer and developer currently residing in Chatham, Ontario. I'm a President's Honour Roll graduate from the Interactive Media Specialist program at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario, that has 10 years of digital experience as a UX/UI designer, developer and most recently, project lead.

In my free time, you can usually find me kicking back with my family, hiking in the mountains, watching scary movies ("REDRUM! REDRUM!"), or scouring the world wide web for the next piece to my oddities and curiosities collection. Not for the faint of heart, my collection proudly contains various animal skulls, medical tools from the early 19th century, and even a human jaw bone that's hundreds of years old! 💀

My Experience

Application User Experience Specialist & Project Lead

TekSavvy Solutions Inc. (Jul 2018 - Present)

Lead a team of software developers and was responsible for complete revamps of various public-facing websites including teksavvy.com and the MySavvy customer portal. Responsible for implementing tags and triggers to track performance and user behaviour using Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics.

Marketing Designer

TekSavvy Solutions Inc. (Mar 2016 - Jul 2018)

Oversaw all creative within the marketing team and ensured it was in accordance with the company brand guidelines. Designed and developed promotional landing pages and email templates with HubSpot. Responsible for all display ads and print materials. Managed website and social media channels.

Front-End Web Developer

Universal Music Canada (May 2013 - Feb 2016)

Developed custom built Wordpress sites and online experiences for award-winning musicians and artists. Designed, built, and executed email marketing campaigns, managed subscribers, and tracked growth.
